" 'Wide Open' is the recording that Al Brant
always wanted to make.
True to his eclectic musical background,
the songs reflect Brant's evolution as an artist. A mix of Roots/Americana with a dose of R&B,'Wide Open' showcases
Brant's dynamic vocals as well as an impressive array of session players. Veteran, bordering on legendary, bassist
Mike Lent was in the producer's chair for 'Wide Open' and he'll be on the stage with Brant leading a collection
of some of Edmonton's best musicians."
The release date for the new recording is October
28, 2010; see the Schedule page for more information. The Edmonton Journal’s Roger Levesque
got an early listen to the project. Click

Well....my new recording, "Wide Open," is almost done! The sessions were truly a beautiful experience.
Mike Lent, Gary Craig and Kevin Breit in a room together, playing live....amazing! "Kevin Breit is the Ry
Cooder of Canada," Mike Lent said. The recording will also feature guest artists Karla Anderson, Mark Sterling,
Russel Broom, Dave Martin, and a few others TBA (see links below).
I will keep you posted on our progress in finishing this CD. I'm excited about how it's sounding, and hope to have

P.S. Don't forget to add my July 7th concert to your calendar.
Well... I have started the ball rolling on my new recording with Mike Lent in the production chair. It is a great
pleasure to be working with such an accomplished producer/musician and I am feeling really good about the whole
project. We are currently working on getting ideas together as far as grooves and arrangements and are laying down
tracks this month in Toronto and Edmonton. Over the next few months I will be posting some acoustic versions of
the tunes on my Facebook profile.
I really want to thank all who came out to the live shows last year. Your support is much appreciated and I hope
to see you out for more. I will be in touch with you about the CD release in later months.
All the best in 2010....it is a good life !!!!
