Hi Folks,
I have started the ball rolling on my next recording. I will be back in the studio with Mike Lent producing again, and with any luck, the same core band. The songs are starting to come together, however it seems I have to circle the ideas for a while.
I had a perfect summer, Mya and I spent some time in Kaslo BC with some good friends and at our cabin at Ma-Me-O beach...always good for the soul.
I have some performances coming up, hope you can make it out.
It is a good life ...peace.

Hi Folks,
I must say it is very nice to finally welcome spring and have everything green up. I am confident that the weather will remain perfect for the North Country fair June 17-19 this year. I am very glad to have a spot in this year's festival and will have the full band with me. Michael Lent is on bass, Barrie Nighswander on guitar and Bill Hobson on drums aaaand guitar wizard and old friend Eddie Patterson will be sitting in with us…should be a blast.

On another note the Christmas Carol cast will once again participating in the Walk for ALS. We would love your support. Please go to

I am still at the hospital part time playing music for patients and it continues to feed my soul… ahh the power of music.

I hope to see you at one of my shows this summer.

" 'Wide Open' is the recording that Al Brant always wanted to make.
True to his eclectic musical background, the songs reflect Brant's evolution as an artist. A mix of Roots/Americana with a dose of R&B,'Wide Open' showcases Brant's dynamic vocals as well as an impressive array of session players. Veteran, bordering on legendary, bassist Mike Lent was in the producer's chair for 'Wide Open' and he'll be on the stage with Brant leading a collection of some of Edmonton's best musicians."

January 2011
Hi Folks,
I just wanted to wish you all a great 2011 and to say thank you for all your support over the last year.
'Wide Open' is getting great reviews and radio play. Special thanks to CKUA and CBC for a ton of spins.

I'm currently working on booking a spring tour in Alberta and B.C and should have some dates up over the next few months. I am touring as a trio with the fabulous Michael Lent on bass and guitarist Barrie Nighswander.

I've just returned from the road run of
'The Christmas Carol Project'. We had great audiences and sold-out shows in Edmonton, Calgary, Whistler and Vancouver. If you missed 'The Carol', here is a review from the Georgia Straight in Vancouver:
